After years of satisfying the needs of Coca-Cola® Mexico, CCL Auto-Sleeve earned a chance to show them it's economical and efficient capabilities in flexo-printed shrink sleeves. In the past, Coke® Mexico had trusted CCL Auto-Sleeve with its stretch sleeve applications. But Coke’s previous shrink sleeve promotion was printed in gravure. With CCL’s flexo shrink sleeve printing expertise, gravure finally met its match.
“Coke Mexico liked their last gravure-printed shrink sleeve labels. But we knew they would see the overall value and distinction our flexo-printed shrink sleeves could bring to the table,” emphasizes John Krukemeyer of CCL Auto-Sleeve’s Art/Pre-Press Manager. “Coke Mexico has printed their labels in a number of formats including gravure-shrink and flexo-stretch sleeves. Our chance to prove the flexo-shrink sleeve advantage came when Coke Mexico gave us their prestigious Christmas promotion label; Coke Mexico’s first, flexo-printed shrink sleeve project ever.” The world-renowned Coca-Cola Santa bottle label design can now be found on a full-body, PVC flexo printed shrink sleeve label that covers a 500 ml glass container produced by the labeler, Grupo Vitro Envases in Mexico. The festive, seven color design and print quality had to match the exact requirements Coke Mexico demanded. CCL Auto-Sleeve General Manager, Roy Marschke proudly reports “CCL flexo printed shrink sleeves passed the Coke Mexico test immediately.” In fact, Senior Packaging Engineer Arturo Hijuelos for Coke Mexico commented that “CCL Auto-Sleeve won this project because of our longstanding relationship.
