Shrink Sleeve Labels Enhance Non-Dairy Creamer

Shrink Sleeve Labels Enhance Non-Dairy Creamer When doing a national re-introduction of its top selling non-dairy creamer more than a year ago, Save-A-Lot needed a new label as distinctive as its new hour-glass bottle, if it was to create visual pop on the shelf. The Missouri-based company went with the bright multi-colored, heat-shrink sleeve labels from CCL Auto-Sleeve in order to boost sales and build brand awareness.

Each contoured; 16 oz. bottle of Enhance now comes snugly fit in a 50 micron PVC heat-shrink sleeve label that is flexo-printed. The labels are reverse printed to ensure that the lifelike colors are not degraded over time by frequent handling or exposure to moisture.
“Our high-quality, flexo-printed, shrink sleeve labels are ideal for those who need an upscale look that can better compete against higher priced rotogravure printed sleeve labels, “says Roy Marschke, General Manager, CCL Auto-Sleeve.

The 7 color design produces a rich, creamy, natural look that precisely fits the curved surface of the package, an effect not possible with offset printing. The product is packaged in an hour glass shaped 16 ounce PET bottle with a snap on cap that includes a built-in spout from Consolidated Plastics. The shrink sleeves are applied by Illinois Growth Enterprises. To make sure that the colorful new 360° top-to-bottom design from coffee cup, to bar code, to ingredient list is not distorted when applied to the curved surface, CCL Auto-Sleeve pre-distorts the graphics so that they return to normal proportions after being heat-shrunk.

“The new label and bottle design have been so well received, that we are using it as a model for future re-introductions or line extensions,” says Dan Kimack, Manager of Corporate Communications at Save-A-Lot. “It’s important that our customers know they are buying the very best items at Save-A-Lot. One way to help them understand that is to continually improve the packaging and presentation of our products.”
